What Size Pot Should I Use for a Trailing Fuchsia?

104 33

    Size

    • The ideal size for a trailing fuchsia is 8 to 10 inches. Heights of planting pots can vary, so look for a standard 8- or 10-inch pot, which will have the same height as the diameter. Fuchsia crowns need to be planted at least 4 inches deep, so a shallow pot will not work.

    Planting

    • Plant three cuttings in an 8-inch pot and four in a 10-inch pot. Place them halfway between the edge and the center of the pot to give them space for air circulation.

    Post-Planting

    • Hang the pot or place it in its permanent location immediately after planting. Position the plant where it will get morning sun and afternoon shade. Add a fungicide right after planting and irrigate until excess water runs from the bottom of the pot.
