How to Get Nail Polish Out of a Tennis Shoe
- 1). Remove wet polish immediately. Simply dab a dry paper towel over the nail polish. Do this a couple of times to remove all the wet polish.
- 2). Remove the remaining nail polish on the sneaker. Place one drop of acetone nail polish remover on the spot. Use an eye dropper to apply the polish remover, and blot the spot one time with a clean paper towel.
- 3). Apply another drop of nail polish remover and blot the nail polish again with a clean paper towel. You may have to repeat this a couple of times until the nail polish is gone.
- 4). Pour a couple of drops of dry-cleaning solvent onto the stain to remove the nail polish stain that may be left behind. Dab the stain with a clean cloth until the solvent is absorbed into the cloth.
- 5). Wash your sneakers. Place a washcloth under cool water and wring it out. Rub canvas and nylon sneakers with the cloth.
- 6). Add a drop of laundry detergent to a shoe brush and scrub off dried dirt. Dampen a clean cloth and wipe the detergent off the shoe. Clean leather sneakers by applying a leather cleaner and rubbing it into the shoe in a circular motion.
