    • 1). Cover the work area with a cotton bath towel. Put on a pair of cotton gloves before handling any limited edition collector coins as the oil from your hands can affect the finish of the coins.

    • 2). Take a photograph of the limited edition collector coins from both sides while they are still in their folder. This photograph can then be used to identify the set for insurance purposes.

    • 3). Remove the coins from their original folder, box or holder. Do not dispose of these or any items related to the collectible coins. Place the folders, documentation, receipts or anything else that came with the coins into a 3-inch binder. Place all the paperwork related to the coins into a plastic binder sheet sleeve. Use one sleeve for each coin set so that documentation and receipts do not get mixed up. Include the corresponding photographs in the sleeves. Secure all the sleeves in the 3-ring binder.

    • 4). Open the lucite or glass case to place coins inside. Depending on the type of display cases, coins are either placed in a defined holder or in a trough which allows the coin to stand on end. Check that the coin is standing in the correct position, right-side up.

    • 5). Place the display case in a room that has a consistent temperature and moderate humidity. Keep the coins out of direct sunlight. Limit handling any of the collectible coins.
