    • 1). Open iTunes on your computer.

    • 2). Plug the iPod's USB cable into the USB port on the computer. Push "Power" on the iPod Touch until the screen prompts you to power off the device.

    • 3). Glide your finger against the shutdown bar on the iPod's screen to turn off the device.

    • 4). Hold down "Home" on the iPod and plug the USB cable into the bottom of the device.

    • 5). Release "Home" when the iTunes icon appears on the iPod's screen.

    • 6). Click "OK" in the pop-up message in iTunes, and click the iPod's name in the iTunes's side menu.

    • 7). Click "Restore" and "Don't Back Up" to restore you iPod to its factory state.
