How to Remove the Front Sight on an S&W 610
- 1). Open the cylinder and remove any cartridges that might be loaded in the cylinder chambers. Unloading your weapon should always be the first step when you are working on a firearm.
- 2). Close the cylinder and turn the 610 so that you are looking straight at the barrel. Locate the small pinhole right above the barrel. This is the front sight take-down pin.
- 3). Place the punch or push-rod into the pinhole and strike the butt end lightly with your hammer. The pin will eventually be pushed out of the 610's frame.
- 4). Pull the front sight straight off the 610 once the pin has been pushed out.
