    Nasturtiums

    • Nasturtiums are annual and perennial flowering plants in the genus of Tropaeolum. There are approximately 80 species of nasturtiums. The plants spread quickly and are considered ideal for gardens. They produce colorful flowers that are usually orange, red or yellow, although some varieties also have a brilliant red color. Nasturtiums also produce a fruit that is tasty. They don't require care and will seed themselves for the following year in milder climates. The leaves are are flat and round, and similar to water lily pads. The colorful blossoms are often used to decorate items such as platters, salads and soups.

    Nippon Daisy

    • The Nippon daisy, which is more formally known as Nipponicum, belongs to the Nipponanthemum genus. It is most often put on display as a cut flower. It is a perennial bush that produces large flowers in the fall. The leaves on a Nippon daisy are dark green, while its flowers are 2 to 4 inches wide. They have yellow centers and white rays. They thrive best with full sun and in soil that is well drained. The bushes can grow to a height of 3 feet and spread out even wider. They also spread quickly. Nippon daisies are generally free of disease and insect problems. They bloom in late summer and early fall. In some places it is also known as the Montauk Daisy.

    Nerine

    • Nerine is a genus of plants that belong to the Amaryllidaceae family. Most of the 24 species are native to South America, although they now appear in many parts of the world. Only four of species are winter growing and 20 grow in the summer. It is a bulb plant that in the fall produces a cluster of up to a dozen pink flowers at its top. They are considered one of the finest of the autumn flowers and are popularly displayed as cut flowers. They remain fresh for an extended period of time.
