Stop Mortgage Foreclosures
So, you missed a mortgage payment and now you just got a bill in the mail for two months of payments.
The first thing to do is take action! Do not ignore this bill.
If you have enough for one month's payment, send it in.
Don't shrug your shoulders thinking: well they want two payments and I don't have that much money right now.
Send in one month's payment.
Believe me the bank will take it.
And being only one payment behind should not be enough to send you into mortgage foreclosure.
After a few days, when you think they've processed the payment, call them.
Let them know you realize you're behind in your payments, for whatever reason and make it clear to them that you are going to continue to send them payments - you are just having some money problems right now.
And let them know exactly what they are.
Be honest and be straightforward with them.
If you are temporarily laid off from you job, let them know that.
If someone in your house is sick and you are incurring expenses you didn't see coming let them know that too.
The banker is not your enemy.
They may actually sympathize or at least understand.
Most certainly they will appreciate your phone call.
Remember, the bank wants the payments, not your home.
They don't want to start a mortgage foreclosure on you.
Keep them up-to-date and don't treat them like the enemy.
They'll be glad to know you aren't ignoring your obligations.
