How to Make a Fish Hook From Metal

104 194

    Instructions

    • 1). Cut the barbed wire into lengths of 6 inches using wire cutters while wearing work gloves. Cut where the spike is joined to the main wire. Each piece will be an individual hook.

    • 2). Bend the wire into a hook shape using pliers.

    • 3). Bend the top of the hook backwards to create a small, closed loop where you can attach fishing line to the hook.

    • 4). Hold the loop over an open flame for at least 30 seconds to soften the metal and completely close the hole. Use pliers to press the hoop closed, if necessary.
