    • 1). Remove any pieces of interior trim that will prevent installation of the headliner. The exact items that will need to be removed depend on the model and the condition of the Mustang. Typically items like coat hooks, visors, and dome lights will need to be removed. Consult the Mustang owner's manual if you need assistance with this step.

    • 2). Lift up the headliner so that the curved edges line up with the curves of the Mustang interior. Have your assistant hold the headliner in place, then let the front half of the headliner hang down. Coat the side of the headliner that will attach to the ceiling with a thin layer of trim glue. Push this side of the headliner back up and press up on it so that it makes firm contact with the ceiling of the Mustang. Hold it in place until the glue adheres to the ceiling. You will know that the glue has adhered when the front of the headliner stays in place without you holding it there.

    • 3). Allow the rear half of the headliner to fall and coat the side of that half of the headliner that will attach to the ceiling with trim glue. You may wish to have your assistant hold the front half of the headliner up to prevent the freshly dried glue from peeling off. Once you have applied the glue to the headliner, push it up and press on it so that the glue coats the ceiling of the Mustang. Hold this half in place until the glue dries.

    • 4). Reconnect all of the interior trim items that you removed in Step 1.
