    Short Hairstyle

    • Cutting thin, straight hair short could help the health of the hair. The ends of hair strands are the oldest hairs on the head. These areas start to thin faster than the hair that is closer to the roots. Cutting some of the thin ends may make hair look fuller.

Straight layers are a sure way to instantly make the hair appear thicker and fuller. Try a chin or shoulder-length layered bob. The shorter layer should stop somewhere around the eyes; having a side-swept bang blends right into the layers and fills out the style even more.

    Medium Hairstyle

    • Medium, straight hairstyles work well for thin hair. The hair is still long enough to put up in protective styles that shield the ends when repairing the hair, but not too long where the thin hair is more present. Medium hairstyles with layers help to give illusions of thicker hair while being stylish.

Straight medium layers look best with the shorter layers falling around the eyes. Finish the style with an off-centered part and fringe bangs.

    Long Hairstyle

    • Long, straight layers don't work well with thin hair. Long layers drag down the hair and make it look even more thin and frayed, especially on straight hair.

When doing layers with long hair, you need layers of all different lengths, starting short around the eyes and growing gradually, with the longest layer falling down the back. Use different options for bangs and parts with long layered looks.

    Styling Straight Hair

    • Wash and condition the hair with products made just for straight hair. Use a protein treatment to thicken the hair some. Do a moisturizing treatment to avoid dry hair so that it won't continue to thin out. Completely dry the hair with a hair dryer and round boar-bristled brush; this will help to straighten the hair even more. Apply a little serum or heat-protectant on the hair.

Run hot flat irons through the hair to further straighten it. Flip your wrist as the flat irons roll over the ends to give it a slight curl. Spray the hair with a little oil sheen.
