    • 1). Brush the carving with a soft bristled brush to remove excess dirt. If your carving is small, use a clean, dry toothbrush inside the smaller detailed pieces. For giant outdoor redwood carvings, use a clean soft bristled broom to remove dirt that builds up.

    • 2). Wipe down the carving with a damp, but not wringing wet cloth. Use plain water or very gentle detergent mixed with water. Do not use wet redwood that has not been sealed or painted.

    • 3). Dry the carving with a dry, clean cloth. Use a cloth that does not shed lint.
