How to Change the Brake Pads on a Honda S2000
- 1). Loosen the nut on both rear wheels, using the lug wrench. Raise the rear end, using the jack, and rest the rear end on jack stands. Remove the rear wheels and set them aside.
- 2). Choose one side of the axle to work on. Loosen the two nuts on the rear of the brake calipers, using the ratchet set. Pull the calipers off the rear rotor. Pull the brake pads off the rotor, using the your hands. Place the new pads onto the caliper.
- 3). Place the brake tool into the caliper. Place the metal plate on the tool on the caliper on the opposite side of the piston and place the push rod on the piston. Turn the handle on the tool until the piston has been completely pushed back into the caliper.
- 4). Replace the caliper onto the rotor and tighten the securing bolts until they are tightly snug. Complete steps 1 through 4 for the other side of the axle.
- 5). Replace the wheels to the S2000 and replace the lug nuts to the wheels. Raise the rear end of the car and remove the jack stands. Lower the S2000 to the ground and tighten the lug nuts, using the lug wrench.
- 6). Repeat steps 1 through 5 for both sets of the front brakes.
