    • 1). Clean the glass jar and lid using a clean rag dipped in rubbing alcohol. Wipe the inside and the outside with the dampened rag to ensure all dust is removed. Allow the jar to air dry for a few minutes before you begin decorating.

    • 2). Gather the decorations near your workspace. Organize them in the order that you will place them onto the jars.

    • 3). Fold a towel in half and place it on your workspace. Lay a jar on its side in the center and scrunch the sides of the towel against the jar to keep it from rolling.

    • 4). Spread a thin layer of liquid white glue along the underside of the first decoration and attach it to the jar. Continue with each decoration until the design on the jar is complete. Allow the glue to dry before rolling the jar to decorate the opposite side.

    • 5). Dip a paintbrush into liquid white glue and carefully paint the empty spaces between the decorations on the jar. Sprinkle glitter or sand onto the glue.

    • 6). Allow the jar to dry overnight.

    • 7). Apply a thin coat of polyurethane to the jar to add shine and to protect the decorations and the glitter or sand between them from damage.

    • 8). Cut fabric circles that are 2 inches wider than the jar lid. Apply a thin layer of liquid white glue to the top of the jar lid. Center the fabric circle over the lid and press gently from the center outward. Wrap a ribbon around the edge of the jar lid and tie it into a bow.
