How to Convert a WMA File for a Cell Phone M3U
- 1). Open Audacity.
- 2). Click on "File" and then "Open" and select the WMA file you wish to convert. Wait for the file to load and the graphic image of the file to fill the bottom window (it will look like a series of blue vertical lines).
- 3). Click on "File" and "Export as MP3" and choose where you wish to save the MP3 on your hard drive. If you want to rename your file you can do this now by highlighting the file name and typing in a new one. Click "Export" to finish the process.
- 4). Save your MP3 to your cell phone. If your phone uses an SD or miniSD memory card, eject the card from the phone and put it into a card reader that is plugged into the USB port of your computer. Use the file manager to copy and paste the MP3 to your card and return the card to your phone. If your phone and computer are synched with Bluetooth. Open up the Bluetooth program on your computer, select your phone from the list and then "Send" the MP3 from your computer to your phone.
- 5). Build a new playlist in your phone. Consult the manual for your phone to create a new playlist. Typically, you will open your "Menu" and then select "Media." From the options there you can select "Create Playlist" and then click to add MP3 files to your playlist. When you are done, select "Save" and you will be prompted to give the playlist a name. When the playlist is saved your cell phone creates an M3U file with the name you gave the playlist.
